Our client is seeking an Audiovisual Kit Room Technician to work closely with the warehouse team, by maintaining, upgrading, and supervising their AV equipment packages and by supplying technical support to our operators and technicians via phone, messaging, and email.
The role would suit someone who has a practical, hands-on approach; is good with technology and DIY; finds it easy to learn how to use new technical equipment, enjoys problem-solving, and has a positive attitude. The role includes building and testing Audio Visual technical equipment for hire, receiving and processing new products, and staying on top of hardware/software releases.

This role would suit somebody who has a practical, hands-on approach; is good with AV technology and DIY; finds it easy to learn how to use new technical equipment, and enjoys problem-solving. This role would particularly suit someone who has an understanding of film technology, in particular DIT, Video assist and RF equipment (video transmitters) with particular emphasis placed on someone who understands the mechanics of film production and has awareness of software such as Adobe Premiere, QTake, Livegrade, Silverstack, and AVID and can demonstrate competency in at least one of these applications.
Main Responsibilities:
• Building and testing the AV technical equipment for hire to film productions.
• Troubleshooting hardware and software issues on equipment in the warehouse
• Providing remote technical support to operators in the field via phone/slack
• Working in conjunction with the warehouse manager and technical director to research new equipment and procurement.
• Receiving and processing new products - asset listing and uploading information onto our dedicated asset management system.
• Although not your primary responsibility we may ask you from time to time to deliver and collect equipment to and from the film studios.
This could occasionally involve early starts/ late finishes and occasional weekends.
• Cleaning Equipment - care needed with expensive technical equipment.
• Goods In - receiving deliveries/post and processing related paperwork, checking technical equipment is in good working order.
• Shipping goods - preparing goods for shipping and booking shipment
Other Duties:
• Forklift duties - training provided
• Cable making - training provided
• PAT testing - training course provided
Candidate Requirements:
Clean driving license
Physically active - moving and handling of equipment required
Practical, basic DIY skills
Common sense - the ability to work unsupervised
Conscientious and positive attitude with the ability to work under pressure.
Flexibility - the company priorities change unexpectedly, the candidate needs to be able to change duties at short notice, in line with the business needs.
Discretion - working in sensitive areas of film production
Computer literate - competent with MS Office - Excel, Word, and Apple with the ability to learn new programs and applications quickly
Desirable but not essential:
Interest in electronics/computers or AV, film equipment

Working Conditions
45 hours average per week.
Hours of Business -
8am to 6pm with the flexibility to work outside of these hours if required.
Monday to Friday - 4.5 days per week.
Occasional weekend hours may sometimes be required
Holiday 28 days per year including bank holidays
