Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, Permanent, Fife, Scotland
Our client (a family business established in 1860), is one of UK's largest, privately owned timber companies. They value their people whilst embracing the latest in wood processing technology.
For their production plant in Leven, they have immediate vacancies for a skilled & time served (or equivalent) Mechanical Maintenance Engineers.
The Mechanical Maintenance Engineer is a role within their busy production site in Fife. This role will provide a mechanical service to all areas of the factory including installation, reactive and planned maintenance of all machinery and equipment.
The successful candidate will be time served and have good all-round engineering experience gained in a similar industrial production background.
Required skills for the Mechanical Maintenance Engineer:
Previous experience of pneumatics, hydraulics, CNC machinery, conveyors etc.
Excellent fault finding and problem-solving skills.
Ability to follow procedures and complete paperwork associated with the role.
Experience using electronic (PC based) reporting systems.
Basic light fabrication & welding skills would be advantageous.
Key elements of the Mechanical Maintenance Engineers role include:
Carry out planned and non-routine mechanical maintenance.
Recommend alterations and improvements for enhanced operation.
Contribute to the installation and commissioning of new equipment.
Manage budgeted improvement projects.
Provide assistance and work flexibly with site staff and contractors.
Maintain a high standard of housekeeping within and around the workshop and working areas.
Ensure full compliance with all Company Policies and Procedures.
Keep up to date with new technologies appropriate to own skills.
Responsible for all general site maintenance.
Carry out other duties which may be reasonably requested.
These roles will be working continental shifts which will attract a 20% uplift on salary
