This is the perfect role for an individual who is excited by leading projects to meet customer and company objectives in an innovative precision engineering and machining environment.

A savvy Project Manager who has a keen eye for detail and well-honed communications skills, with an interest in precision machining, would gain a high degree of job satisfaction in the position.

Your Role

Reporting to the Executive Manager, you will be responsible for managing machining projects from conception to completion, delegating to and steering the machining team towards satisfactory delivery.

As well as managing and developing the sub-contract machining base, you will support the New Product Introduction (NPI) process, take responsibility for project financial management, and contribute to health and safety and environmental improvements.

Specifically, your duties will include:

- Guiding the tooling/CAD department to help with DFM
- Maintaining and promoting good working relationships with customers
- Managing post-sales service
- Producing and presenting timely and accurate timing plans
- Maintaining personal supplier worklist
- Negotiating costs and managing the selection process to ensure the subcontract procurement is provided in line with targets
- Holding responsibility for managing profit margins on allocated projects
- Assisting with preparation of monthly predicted sales figures
- Ensuring that CAD activity is carried out within the terms of the Company Health and Safety Policy
- Supporting health, safety and environmental management programmes and the drive for continual improvement

About You

A quality-oriented team player with a proven capability of working to deadlines, you will be a hard-working and flexible manager who can maintain professionalism under all circumstances.

To be considered as our next Machining Project Manager, you will need:

- A solid engineering background, preferably in a machining environment, and knowledge of machining
- Experience of technical management or procurement management of engineering parts of services
- The ability to read and explain engineering drawings with GD&T
- Proven project management skills with the ability to manage various projects at the same time
- A degree of flexibility in working hours and a willingness to undertake overseas travel

Knowledge of precision machined components, particularly if gained from an automotive engineering background is highly desirable.
