We have an exciting opportunity for a Service Manager to oversee all aspects of St Mungo's Reading Outreach Services operation across a variety of both accommodation and non-residential services, including outreach, 24/ 7 supported accommodation and specialist housing services such as Housing First and Women's Services.
About the role
In this exciting and varied role you would have overall responsibility for both the development and the day to day running of the service.
You will ensure delivery of high quality services to all stakeholders including those engaged in the designated street population(s), Borough of Reading, partner services and agencies, and those who reside, visit and work in Reading.
In addition you will develop the service in line with the strategic objectives of St. Mungo's and Reading and to liaise with other key partners, so that the streets and public spaces in the borough are safer and feel safer for all, and so that those on the margins of society are effectively linked into the support and services to enable them to lead more independent and dignified lives.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing and coordinating the support for residents, ensuring
- Ensuring the service meets contract and best practice requirements.
- Managing, leading, motivating and developing the staff team.
- Maintaining and building on the network of relationships with other statutory and voluntary agencies, and the local community.
- Reviewing and developing working practices to ensure they are in line with St Mungo's policies and procedures, and that the best possible service is provided to St Mungo's clients.

We are looking for a motivated and creative individual with:
- Experience of working with vulnerable people and leading a service delivery team, including managing the provision of a safe operating environment in a relevant context.
- Experience of supervising a specialist staff team, and motivating staff effectively; to promote good team work.
- The ability to negotiate with a wide range of internal and external partners and build positive relationships.
- Excellent planning and organisational skills with the ability to effectively prioritise your own time and workload to meet a number of different and competing tasks in sometimes pressurised environment.
- Above all we are looking someone who is passionate; and committed to the overall aims and objectives of St Mungo's and the Reading services.
