Allstaff Recruitment are recruiting for a Technical Author - Engineering, to join an ever-growing engineering company based in Bedfordshire.
Summary of the Technical Author???
Salary: GBP30,000-GBP40,000 per annum Dependent on Experience
Location: Bedfordshire
Type of Contract: Permanent, Full time
The role:
As Technical Author your role will involve the following important duties:
* Take a pivotal role ensuring all machinery manuals are complete, up to date, compliant with legislative requirements, conformant with Company requirements and consistent incorporate presentation.
* Assist with the preparation of documentation required for production projects in accordance with each project's published schedule.
* Take responsibility for ensuring all literature is translated into the local language required for each project.
* Take responsibility for the structure and management of the library of manuals.
* The Technical Author - Engineering role will be part of the Company's Compliance Team where machinery standards are defined and verified.
This job will be office based in Bedfordshire, although there will be occasional requirements to visit sites to see the equipment in operation or to meet customers.
The experience required:
* A strong command of the English language is essential, and good communication skills are required.
* Proven ability to write clear, accurate and concise technical literature.
* A broad understanding and a keen interest in engineering machinery, function and process.
* Completer finisher, accurate, productive and organised.
* Self-motivated, innovative and enthusiastic.
* Knowledge of The Machinery Directive and Machinery Safety.
* Knowledge of machinery components.
* Second languages would be advantageous though not essential.
* IT literate and familiar with the Microsoft Office Suite of Programs
* Capable of independent working yet be able to take instruction and work within a team.
