Belmont Recruitment are currently in search of a CAMHS Learning Disabilities Specialist Practitioner (Nurse RMN/CPN/Psychologist/Therapist) Band 7-8a to join the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service, based out of Merton in Greater London. The role is Monday - Friday 9:00am - 5:00pm however there is scope for flexibility so applicants who cannot work full time are still encouraged to apply, this is initially on an ongoing locum however this will most likely be made permanent.
The role is school based working with one of London borough of Merton's most established schools for children with severe and profound learning disability, ages 3-19. The post holder will work within a specific timetable involving group work, parenting support, multi-agency liaison and individual therapeutic interventions.
The post also requires providing a link between the school and Merton CAMHS specialist team and working as part of an inter-disciplinary team within the school base. The role will be for 5 days per week and will be based within a School and within the Merton CAMHS team, providing a Tier 3 service for children with learning disabilities and mental illness/ challenging behaviour. These cases will be managed jointly with the consultant child & adolescent psychiatrist who has a special interest in learning disability. The post-holder will have access to the Tier 3 multi-disciplinary meetings include access to family therapy consultation.
The pay rate for this locum role is between GBP30.34 - GBP40.34 per hour dependant on experience, however this is open for negotiation for someone with years of experience.
