Pertemps are recruiting for an Inquiry Hearings Officer to support a Public Sector organisation initially on a temporary assignment for 6 months. This role would suit a digitally minded candidate with previous media experience and provides opportunity to work with excellent software.

Pay: GBP13.98 per hour

Overview of post
This is a varied post requiring excellent communication skills and an aptitude for getting things done. As Inquiry Hearings Officer you will work across the Inquiry to ensure the smooth running of its day to day business and systems.
You will have strong views on the technology to ensure the key requirement that the Inquiry is accessible to all abilities and functionalities, and you will be involved in developing specifications, instructions and procedures for the necessary equipment.
You should be comfortable communicating and co-ordinating with Inquiry staff at all levels and also a wide range of external stakeholders. Your role will be crucial to facilitating the effective operation of the Inquiry.

Main duties

" Working with other teams of the Inquiry, maintain, support and operate the technical solution to ensure that the oral hearings that form an essential part of the Inquiry's work are available to all. This will include developing and maintaining the detailed desk instructions. Training on the relevant technologies will be provided.

" You will ensure that the Hearing suite remains operational at all times. You will coordinate with IT specialists to ensure IT equipment, ISP and website hosting is regularly tested; working with appropriate experts to resolve issues as they arise.

" You will provide general support to the Inquiry Support Team, assisting with the day to day running of the Inquiry, for example, managing the office premises and maintaining a package of internal office management procedures. You will also be responsible for coordinating with internal and external parties, such as Inquiry staff, contractors, suppliers and visitors to the office.

" You will provide general administrative support across the Inquiry's teams, monitor the mailboxes effectively and respond to incoming enquiries in a timely manner.

Essential Criteria

" Track record of adapting and embracing new technology, including new IT solutions and systems in an operational, administrative or supporting capacity.
" Demonstrable experience of listening and questioning, combined with the ability to interact confidently with colleagues and stakeholders to establish what the problem is and explain and implement appropriate solutions.
" Ability to prioritize and multitask the workload across a range of business areas.
" Excellent communication skills including the ability to interact confidently with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels.
