Senior (Fund) Accounting Administrator - up to GBP30,000 per annum, dependent on experience. Immediate start!
We are recruiting a self-motivated, dynamic individual with a background or degree in accounting to join a busy team. In your role as Senior Fund Accounting Administrator you will play an integral role in the day-to-day running of the Operations & Oversight team and act as the team's Accounting SME when it comes to all things related to the oversight of the organisation's range of funds as well as assist with the delivery of a risk-based monitoring programme of delegated activities.
Whilst the client is based in Wimborne this is available as a Hybrid role or working from home and in the office.
Your main responsibilities will include:
Managing the production and filing of annual and interim report & accounts, relating to organisation's fund range;
Carrying out oversight level checks of the Financial Statements, recording status and implementing changes, as required;
Assisting with the delivery of monitoring reviews (desk-based, site visit and thematic) using a risk-based approach as defined within the Oversight Monitoring Programme;
Assisting with the production of Oversight monitoring reports and records;
Assisting with the Due Diligence of proposed new service providers and maintaining continued due diligence records;
Assisting with the research into technical and legislative changes of both FCA and FRC regulation in connection with the SORP and making recommendations, including assisting the business with the implementation of such changes into business practices;
Liaising with internal / external parties (including outsourced fund accountant, depository, regulator, Sponsors (clients) and Distributors as necessary, delivering an excellent level of service and maintaining a high level of client satisfaction;
Assisting with the review and production of the Delegate Oversight Framework as well as maintenance and development of the organisations other Oversight standards, policies and procedures; and
Acting as a 'Committee CoOrdinator' on a number of the businesses Governance Committees including the Investment Oversight Committee, Product Governance Committee and the Fair Value Pricing Committee.
To be successful in this role, you will need to be familiar with financial statements / report & accounts and therefore have strong accounting acumen. This could be in the form of past experience in accounting roles, a full/part accounting qualification or a related degree.
You will have a keen interest in investigating, validating and analysing data and have a naturally curious and inquisitive nature. You'll need to be a critical thinker and someone who demonstrates a desire to gain a deeper understanding of the task at hand; questioning the validity of the information provided to them and have a good understanding of how best to collate and present data/metrics to allow for effective reporting.
We also think you'll need the following other skills and experience to carry out this role:
Demonstrate excellent analytical skills;
Be organised, pro-active and strong multi-tasking abilities; able to confidently manage own workload and juggle conflicting priorities;
Flexibility and ability to maintain standards and controls in an ever-changing regulatory environment;
Good IT skills, namely all Microsoft 365 packages (i.e. Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, Sharepoint etc.); and
Excellent numeracy and literacy skills (minimum GCSE/CSE Maths and English at Grade C/4 or above.
