Engagement Manager – North East

This is a unique opportunity to develop, recruit and mobilise a brand-new network of volunteer ambassadors and stakeholders who will raise awareness of lung health, fundraise and provide peer to peer support in their local communities in the Northeast. This pilot will then be used as a new model of engagement for AUK-BLF to roll out across other areas of the UK. A new role to really get your teeth into and make your own!

One person in five in the UK is affected by lung disease. As the only UK charity for people affected by all lung and respiratory diseases – from mild asthma through to lung cancer – the Asthma UK-British Lung Foundation Partnership is here for every one of them. We provide support, fund vital research, and campaign for better prevention, treatment, and care.

Your background may be in regional fundraising or volunteer management, alternatively you may have a background in education, health, or CSR. What is most important will be your passion and drive to make a difference to lung health across the local community. You will be an excellent communicator who can bring together stakeholders from healthcare professionals to support organisations. You will have strong time management skills and the ability to prioritise.

This is a fixed term contract for 12 months, though may extend to 3 years depending on the impact and success of the pilot. It is an excellent role for someone looking to make a difference and achieve a real sense of accomplishment.

Salary range: £29,000 – 30,000 FTE

Contract: 12-month fixed term contract, 28 hours per week
