Working on behalf of a Local Authority, Aatom Recruitment has an opportunity for a Digital Lead on a 2 month's contract with a possibility of an extension.

Job Purpose.

To lead on the development, implementation and evaluation of digital communication and marketing strategies to deliver agreed outcomes.
To lead on the development of creative, imaginative and high-quality digital solutions for a range of audiences.

Main Accountabilities.

Plan and support delivery of effective digital communication and marketing strategies that support the delivery of corporate priorities and agreed service needs.
Oversee the overall digital marketing strategy, developing, implementing, tracking, and optimising digital marketing campaigns to ensure digital growth.
Develop and maintain websites, managing conversion rate optimisation, quality assurance and SEO reviews as necessary.
Support and supervise the delivery of digital content planners for a range of channels.
Manage and develop digital channels and technology to engage key audiences and maximise reach and achieve objectives.
Oversee, develop and maintain strategy for all digital listings and social media profiles, including managing paid-for social media advertising.
Align delivery to the work of frontline teams where appropriate to ensure digital development is closely integrated and aligned with that of sales and customer service.
Support robust evaluation of digital strategies and channel content to make sure that reach is maximised.
Provide professional advice to senior colleagues to agree the optimal strategies and implementation.
Advise colleagues on the optimal use of digital channels, including paid media, web and social media.
Employ knowledge and experience of working with strategic partnerships, the voluntary sector and the community sector to ensure effective and meaningful public engagement campaigns.
Ensure that all digital strategies are outcome based which directly support the delivery of corporate goals and meet the needs of the Council.
Maintain and develop the brand identity by ensuring that guidelines are adhered to at all times.
Develop and update digital channels including the intranet and Council website in a timely way.
Work with communication and marketing colleagues to support the delivery of campaigns.
Ensure that the service offers excellent value for money in all of its activity.
Manage and design the delivery of specialist training in the chosen field of expertise.
Ensure all relevant legal guidelines and procedures are followed such as the Recommended Code of Practice on Local Government Publicity, March 2011, copyright and data protection laws.
Ensure all communications and marketing activity is in line with Council policy and procedures including equality and diversity, health and safety, corporate governance and statutory obligations.
The post-holder will be required to work some weekends and evenings, attending events and Council meetings.
Carry out other duties within the overall function, commensurate with the grade and level of responsibility of the post.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience.

A qualification in marketing/business/ communications/sales
A relevant degree or equivalent experience
Considerable experience in the delivery, management and evaluation of digital communications and marketing strategies, including applied knowledge of techniques at a tactical and strategic level
Evidence of a substantial track record of delivering strategic digital marketing and communications advice.
Experience of cultivating a customer focussed environment, and engaging with customers to identify their service needs
Budget management and procurement skills & experience.
Knowledge and understanding of and experience of using social media as a communications, promotional and advertising channel and interacting and engaging with audiences on social network sites.
Knowledge and understanding of and experience of applying SEO to digital marketing to maximise its impact.
