Residential Care Support Worker
Location: Northampton
Salary: GBP18,351 to GBP 22,800 DOE - Plus sleep in allowance at GBP40 per night.
Contract: Full Time, Permanent
Hours: 39 hours a week following a shift pattern plus up to 2 sleep in's per week (worth GBP3,000 plus per annum)

The Banyan Tree, based in Northamptonshire offers an excellent therapeutic service for children and young people aged seven to eighteen plus.
We have two OFSTED registered children's homes offering medium to long term residential placements for up to five children between the ages of seven to eighteen.
Our third CQC registered home offers residential placements for young people aged 16 plus with mental health needs and/or Learning Disabilities
Our client meets the needs of 'looked after' children and young people who may be experiencing a range of difficulties.
Each home achieves consistently good outcomes for children and younger adults.
Residential Care Support Worker: The role
Join our exciting team, we are currently seeking a Residential Support Worker who genuinely enjoys the rewards and challenges of working with children and young people
As a Residential Support Worker, you will be required to provide direct care and support to the children and young people living in our three small homes.
You will be required to -
* Promote and participate in activities encouraging choice and opportunity to the children and young people.
* Actively participate in the running and management of the homes and communicating and liaising effectively with managers, other professionals, agencies and families.
* Carry out general administration duties to a high standard
* Support the children and younger adults in all aspects of their lives - be 'their' champion
* Adopt therapeutic approaches and practice using Attachment Aware principles
* Have a growth mind set and be prepared to participate in training and development and complete qualifications
* Be a key-worker offering support, advice and mentoring to children and young people
Please Note: It is essential that all applicants undergo an enhanced DBS clearance check if successful
Although you will be centrally based at one location the role may require you to work at the other two local sites to provide support when required.
Applicants will be required to work some evenings and weekends on a rota, undertake on-call and sleep-in duties and will be required to go on holiday with the children and young people.
In order to be successful in this role you will have experience / qualifications in
Essential
* Professional experience working with children or qualifications in appropriate disciplines is essential
* Understanding the developmental needs of children and young people
* Be prepared to complete training and willingness to learn
* Experience and the desire to work using attachment aware and therapeutic approaches
* Excellent communication, leadership and administrative skills
* Live within a commutable distance of Northampton
* Ability to work shifts and up to 2 sleep in's per week - work two weekends out of three (shifts)
Desirable
* Full driving licence is highly desirable
