Interaction Recruitment are looking for a Transport Coordinator for our client based in Devon.

Key Tasks and responsibilities:

Responsible for the day to day administration duties of the transport department providing effective management support.

Compile, manage and report on data, analyse information and input the data onto the various management systems.

Responsible for dealing with delivery drivers, both internal and external, customer queries, tachograph audits and support the management team in the smooth running of the operation.

To effectively manage and motivate a team of HGV drivers to meet production targets, quality standards and delivery deadlines.

Monitor and review processes and procedures where necessary.

Highlight any issues surrounding the organisation, its smooth operation and assist with suggestions for improvements.

To adhere to and promote best practise in accordance with company health, safety and quality regulations.

Ensure all workers under supervision are operating to H&S rules and regulations.

To ensure all paperwork and systems are completed and accurate in accordance with company procedures.

To ensure that all areas comply with hygienic audits, both internal and external.

To ensure GMP (Good manufacturing practises) and housekeeping (clean as you go) are strictly adhered to.

Confers with transport and production managers and allocates use of labour, and equipment for production and delivery requirements.

Yard shunting of LGV vehicles where required

To liaise with agency controllers on a day to day basis providing feedback regarding agency workers.

To assist in the training and development of new starters and provide on-going training in line with BRC standard to existing employees.

To act as a role model for best practise.

Play an active part in continuous improvement.

Liaise with senior management teams with any reasonable requests.

To participate in the company's appraisal system

Drive own personal development through training and work-based experience.

To undertake such other duties as may be required from time to time, that reasonably fall within the scope and grade of the post.

Essentials Qualifications / Experience

A clear understanding of production process / transport processes

Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to make good rational quick decisions.

Able to compile detailed working schedules

Planning and analytical skills

Previous experience in an FMCG environment.

Works well under pressure

Previous experience as a transport administrator

Desired Qualifications / Experience

Transport Manager CPC

Drivers CPC

Previous experience as a transport manager in a chilled environment

Hours of Work / Benefits

45 hours per week contract

Working days/hours to be determined after training

on call requirements out of hours

Flexible approach to working hours in order to meet the demands of the business.

28 days holiday per year

Bank holidays worked are taken in lieu
