Talent Builders are currently working with a privately owned and highly successful Building Services company that has grown and developed significantly over the years to provide full mechanical and electrical services installations to their clients. Due to their continued growth and success, they now have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Electrical Estimator to join their commercial team.
Job Role
This role will be focused on preparing and winning new tenders for the business. This will require the estimator to manage robust and long-term relationships with clients and internal teams. They will need to assist as well as manage the production of tender documents, attend pre-tender and post tender interviews and provide data as requested.
Key tasks
?? Tender pricing - respond to tender queries, prepare and submit competitive tender packages and quotations
?? Job costing - calculate the price of time, labour and materials for complex, bespoke contracts
?? Managing and assisting with the preparation of pre-qualification questionnaires for large tenders
?? Analysis of contract documentation and preparation of accurate sub-contractor packages for pricing, liaising and negotiating with sub-contractors and key suppliers
?? Drawing 'take offs' - take off quantities from drawings or bill of quantities and preparation of schedule of rates
?? Determine contractual, financial, technical and operational risks and to find opportunities to minimise risk and maximise gross profit
The Person
?? Appropriate level of education, qualification and experience in the sector or a closely-related sector
?? High level of interpersonal skills
?? High level of commercial awareness
?? Able to develop and maintain productive relationships with a wide range of senior and subordinate colleagues, suppliers, clients and other key players, ensuring that positive morale is developed
?? Able to maintain sharp focus in the face of adversity and conflicting requirements
