Meraki Talent are delighted to be supporting a leading UK Accountancy firm with the delivery of a new Mixed Tax Manager into the business. This position can be based in either the Edinburgh or Glasgow offices of the firm or a blended mix between the 2 locations. There is also an opportunity for individuals within the north of Scotland to work from a satellite office.

The Role
The role requires a high standard of technical service delivery to clients, ensuring accurate and timely advice in line with client requirements. The role includes both compliance and advisory work on a portfolio of clients, as well as aiding other members of the Business Advisory Services team and wider firm to deliver advice to clients outside of the portfolio. With responsibility for the development of the team, together with their financial and operational performance, this is a key role in the management of the business. Involvement in the future growth of the firm is required through the effective introduction of the firms' services and network.
This role requires an individual with considerable Corporate & Personal tax experience. The proposed mixed tax client portfolio includes owner managed businesses across many different trading sectors, focussing on providing compliance & tax advisory services to companies, the related directors/shareholders, high net worth individuals, partnership businesses and the partners.
You will be able to display detailed knowledge of Income Taxes and Capital Taxes generally with the ability to identify other taxes which might be relevant (for example VAT, International Taxes, LBTT, Stamp Duty Taxes) and obtain input from colleagues outside of the Business Advisory Services team to deliver well rounded advice to clients.

- Annual tax return compliance for companies, individuals, and partnerships
- Tax efficient remuneration planning
- Corporate tax planning
- Succession planning
- Capital Gains Tax advice
- Benefits in kind advice
- Work alongside others in both the Business Advisory Services team & the Private Client management team to manage the annual compliance function for circa 1,800 clients, and coordinating this operation across the firm
- Responsibility for preparing proposal documents for new clients including quoting for new work followed by onboarding new clients in line with the firm's processes
- Manage all aspects of your portfolio, working alongside other teams within the firm as well as the client's wider professional networks to ensure all client service requirements are met
- Take responsibility for delivery of blogs and technical articles and presentations relevant to your technical expertise

To be considered for this opportunity, you must have the following experience:
- CTA, ICAS, ACCA, ATT qualification or equivalent experience
- Previous experience of working in a similar role
- Expertise in compliance and advisory work
- Experience of working to tight deadlines
- Track record of handling a client portfolio with strong client engagement
- Experience of managing a team
- Use of tax software, preferably CCH
