About the role
Here at Cavendish Nuclear we're looking to recruit two Quality Assurance Engineers to join the teams working within our offices in in Warrington and Cumbria. We are part of the FTSE 250 defence and engineering global organisation Babcock International and are based at a number of sites in the UK and overseas.

As a Quality Assurance Engineer you'll provide quality assurance support to the business in support of service delivery, developing and implementing quality arrangements across all delivery activities with specific emphasis on support to the assurance programme and projects,

You'll use your working knowledge of all relevant quality standards to support to the business on all aspects of quality, including the delivery of its quality plans, ensuring appropriate quality levels are allocated to control of work activities. You'll support the Quality Manager in maximising resource utilisation factors relevant to the business area; support the planning, scheduling, conducting and reporting of audits and reviewing of findings from independent assurance activities; support the implementation of necessary corrective and preventive actions to remedy any non-compliance found and the delivery of a continual improvement process across the business. You'll monitor progress against the site quality arrangements, identifying areas of concern to the overall project and where necessary escalate to Line Management. You'll also ensure the requirements for site lifetime records are clearly identified and that such records are prepared and maintained, including all relevant review and approval activities, concurrently with site activities.

What do I need to do the role?
You'll have significant relevant Quality Assurance experience, preferably gained within a similar role in the Nuclear or other highly regulated engineering sector

We would also like you to have the following:-

  • A thorough understanding of the structure of the Business Management System (BMS);
  • Experience of supporting problem solving and improvement activities against an agreed assurance programme;
  • Chartered member of the Quality Institute and registered on appropriate CPD scheme;
  • Approved Auditor qualification (or has demonstrable skills and track record);
  • Good working knowledge of all relevant quality standards and application of ISO9001 (and ISO17025 where relevant)
  • Ability to investigate events using industry best-practice causal analysis tools

Lastly, you'll have good interpersonal and communication skills (verbal, written and report writing), the ability to work with others and independently, together with a flexible approach to allow for the nature of the work we carry out.
