A unique opportunity to work client-side for a global technology firm who are seeking a Health & Safety Construction Manager to join their global data centre connectivity team.
The Health & Safety Manager must be experienced in providing guidance on complex construction and operational activities related to safety, insurance, regulatory agency compliance and risk management. The Health & Safety Manager will be a vital component in ensuring the success of the global safety program that my client is establishing for their data centre program. The position is on site full-time.
Main Duties:
Create a culture of care and Safety excellence, champion this and set a personal example on site.
Coordinate, administrate and provide direction, training and mentoring to on site teams and internal stakeholders to implement effective safety methodologies.
Review risk assessments for both construction and operational related activities.
Collaborate closely with Contractor's to monitor the safety program on the project site and maintain a good working relationship to facilitate zero incidents.
Provide guidance to the site team and our contractors to implement standards.
Facilitate incident investigation, root cause analysis and reporting for corrective actions.
Work in conjunction with site and EHS teams to ensure deliverables and job functions maintain minimum standards.
Be actively engaged in maintaining cross???functional relationships to foster cooperation and enhance safety endeavours.
Effectively integrate into the construction/operational sequence on site to facilitate best in class safety performance.
Function within the framework of a holistic risk management program.
Lead on and undertake Leadership walks with the Contractor and prepare the associated reports.
Assist in the roll out of global initiatives such as Safety Surveys to ensure local adoption.
Prepare a weekly safety report in the standard format for the jobsite to reflect current progress
Ensure EHS management systems for all the projects are implemented and maintainedRequirements:
Data Centre construction project experience (desirable).
Must have experience working with EU building codes and health & safety regulations.
Professional industry experience focused on Health and Safety, minimum of two years
Experience with the implementation of Environmental Health & Safety enhancement programs.
Understanding of standard practices in the design and construction industry, including knowledge of fast???track design???build process and associated documents and contracts.
Must have experience in construction green field site development requirements.
Experience with retrofit projects in live mission???critical environments or occupied spaces (desirable).
Relevant in-country Safety certifications as required by the governing bodies (desirable).
Relevant in-country Safety experience including knowledge of local laws, client, contractor requirements (desirable).
