Hours: 9 - 5, 3 days per week.
Pay: GBP10.17

Pertemps are recruiting for a Part-Time Administrator for our national client based in Welshpool.

Job Purpose:
This is an assistant post within the Environment Team that covers North Powys. The location is varied and interesting the headwaters of the river Severn and Wye, a plethora of conservation designations, the highest concentration of chicken farms in Wales and a bunch of challenging WFD waterbodies.
The purpose of the environment team is to contribute to the sustainable management of natural resources by regulating a range of activities centred around the management of designated conservation sites and a range of water related regulatory activities.
You will be a part of a small team with a big workload and the role of the assistant is to help ensure that the team is as effective as can be. You will provide technical admin support to officers and the team leader and ensure that they are as organised and efficient. You need good admin and ICT skills and a working knowledge of word and excel.

Essential knowledge and skills:
-Knowledge and skills will have been gained through prior practical work experience so that the post holder has a reasonable level of technical competence to fulfil the requirements of the role. The role will require good numeracy, literacy, IT and communication skills, both written and verbal.
-The post holder will also have good literacy, numerical and communication skills and an understanding of the health and safety requirements and implications in relation to work activity.

Evaluation of information:

Information used for the purposes of undertaking the role will generally be straight forward, easily understood and from readily available resources.
There may be an element of gathering, collecting and recording data requiring some degree of accuracy. Checking and validation of data/ information may be a characteristic of roles at this level.
Other documentation is likely to be fairly routine and standard in terms of understanding or completion.
Communication and Relationships with Others:

Communication will be with colleagues carrying out both similar and different aspects of work. This may include leading on some aspects of work requiring the ability give clear guidance or instruction if necessary.
There will also be contact with the general public and third parties which will typically entail exchanging information.
Written communication will include the completion of standard documentation and record keeping requiring good IT skills.
Responsibility for Resources:
Post holders will be responsible for the safe use and operation of equipment and data that they use in order to fulfil the requirements of their role.
