Our client has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Property Surveyor to join their team.

They manage almost 14,000 properties, providing homes for more than 29,000 people in Wythenshawe, South Manchester.

The successful candidate will undertake a range of property inspections and supervision services in relation to the maintenance of the organisation's housing stock.

They will ensure the organisations surveying services seek Value for Money for repairs whilst maintaining satisfactory quality standards.

They will also ensure inspections are effectively co-ordinated and the properties are properly maintained in accordance with procedure and specification, including pre and post inspection, legal and insurance claims.

The successful candidate will assist the Senior Property Surveyors in the efficient and effective management of the maintenance service and carrying out surveying & project management functions.

The day to day duties will include: -

  • Undertaking and completing day to day inspections, post inspection
  • Ensuring that all tenants' queries, requests, and complaints are dealt with accurately sympathetically and promptly.
  • Providing technical advice in relation to repairs to both customers and colleagues
  • Ensuring that all remedial works are completed in line with health and safety requirements 
  • Coordinating and supervising day to day repairs, preparing specifications and tender documents, supervising, and approving works in accordance with the company policies and procedures. 

  • Ensuring contractor's work on site is properly supervised and that the quality of work and response times meet the required standard.

  • Liaising with senior management & colleagues within the business, as appropriate to ensure that all tenants queries, requests and complaints are investigated and dealt with accurately sympathetically and promptly.

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate.2: -

  • An understanding of building construction maintenance
  • HNC (Building Construction) or equivalent
  • Trade background /apprenticeship within construction/maintenance
  • Conversant with current legislation and statutory requirements relating to building and inspection works
  • Experience of carrying out property inspections
  • Good working knowledge M3NHF Schedule of rates Version 7.2
  • Good working knowledge of legal disrepair
  • Good working knowledge of Personal Injury claims
  • Full and valid driving licence
