Job Introduction

Have you a finance or payments background and looking for a leadership role within a Finance function that is currently embarking on a digital transformation journey? Then this is the role for you. The Financial Control team is expanding and are looking for a Banking Operations Leader to join the senior management team overseeing all banking activity.

The finance function is currently going through an incredible digital transformation and is amid implementing a world leading financial management tool that will streamline all financial activities. As both a leader and a technical subject matter expert you'll play a key role in the success of the project.

We've adapted really well to home working during the current pandemic, so although our Head Office is based in Skipton there would not be a requirement for you to be based here full time and we are happy to consider any flexible working requests you may have.

What you'll be doing

The role will be responsible for the timely reconciliation of Society bank accounts, unmatched transactions and end of day branch balancing and administration of banking mandates. You'll be going out and building strong relationships with key stakeholders, in particular within the distribution network and operation teams to understand where the banking team can add more value to support customer experiences and collaborate to find better ways of working together to reduce the query traffic and reconciliation items within banking. You will take the lead on driving forward these initiatives with the team of 6 that you'll be leading, providing further opportunity for you to develop your coaching and broader leadership skills.

What you'll bring

We're looking for someone who not only has a strong finance or payments background but someone who will thrive at the opportunity to work alongside our finance transformation team to drive forward improvements to our processes, controls and reporting and preferably with leadership experience. You'll have relevant finance or payments experience and holding a finance qualification (ACCA / CIMA / ACA / AAT) would be highly advantageous although not essential. Experience working in financial services would be preferred. Within the role you'll be working in partnership with various business areas, building relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
