The post holder will operate within the Engineering Workshops team of Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service. They will have a particular focus on supporting the Assets Manager to deliver an effective and efficient engineering workshops.
Cornwall Fire and Rescue has an exciting opportunity for an individual who is experienced manager who will be responsible for the legal, safe, responsive and cost-effective operation of the Service’s fleet of vehicles, equipment and plant.
You must demonstrate a high-level personnel management skills to deal with and resolve performance issues and technicians’ outputs to support frontline services.
You must be able to deliver commercial standard performance management of the Engineering Workshop technicians using SMART objectives. With a strong track record in Performance management utilising a personal development system to set and deliver optimum requirements for technicians’ performance and fleet management.
To ensure an effective, efficient and cohesive running of the Engineering Workshops Team that delivers optimum service and value for money within a set budget, whilst prompting commercialisation and income generation.
To deliver our outcomes, cross functional working is essential. The role holder will need to be an are excellent communicator, relationship builder and value the diversity of our teams to understand how to maximise our service delivery options. You will be required to provide expert technical advice for the operational asset procurement programme.
The role holder will be required to attend and receive ongoing training to enable them to maintain a wide range of firefighting equipment.
The interview process will involve a presentation (TBC) and structured interview.
