My client is a well-established, family-run civil engineering and highways contractor with over 40 years of experience dealing with Essex and London-based boroughs and councils. They have a great company atmosphere and have all their labour on the books, the majority of the labour have been with them for over 15+ years. The types of works that they specialise in involve term maintenance, hard & soft landscaping, regeneration schemes, resurfacing, and Civil Engineering & footway schemes.
About the role
Due to the company expanding and being flat out across several London boroughs they are now looking for a Site Supervisor to support the project manager on schemes in Lewisham. The projects that you will be involved in will be on a highway maintenance contract in Lewisham. The projects will be involved in will range from surfacing, traffic management, street lighting, and routine highways and footways maintenance.
The successful candidate will need to construct and deliver the allocated section of work within a specified time frame with correctly allocated resources. You're going to need to optimise outputs and reduce the need for overtime working to allow all colleagues to keep a good working pattern throughout the week. It's important to note that you'll also need to ensure safety compliances and promote safe working practices. As the potential new Site Supervisor, you will be in charge of monitoring construction activity on-site and make sure that they meet up to the quality standards put in place.
About the Benefits and rewards
You will be rewarded with a very competitive salary ranging from GBP35,000 - GBP45,000 + a full package on top.
About the requirements
You are required to have a good standard of education preferably to Foundation Degree level (HND,HNC, or equivalent qualification) in either Construction management or civil engineering.
To be considered for this position, you should have experience working as a Site supervisor on a term maintenance contract. Your work history should be stable; ideally, you should have worked at your previous companies for several years.
A UK driving license is mandatory for this role
