This award-winning niche property practice in Lichfield is seeking to appoint an experienced commercial property solicitor of 4-6 years PQE to support the Head of Department with a varied caseload of commercial property instructions and to help elevate the firm's profile in this sector, both locally and nationally.
The firm currently has a reliable supply of good quality instructions from a range of clients including a national car parts supplier, residential developers, local authorities, sports personalities and high net worth individuals.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a range of commercial property work including acquisitions and disposals, secured lending and investment finance, advice on commercial leases, supplemental and ancillary lease documents, sale contracts, option agreements, overage deeds, and a limited amount of high end residential work. You will be motivated to provide an exceptional client service.
Responsibilities include:
• Assistance with marketing and development of the department
• Taking of new enquiries and follow up
• Conduct of casework and matters
• Preparation of periodic technical releases for internal and external use
• Reporting to directors
• Training of team members as required.
THE CANDIDATE:
You will be ambitious and self-motivated with a broad knowledge and experience of handling Commercial property law and transactions. Strong technical skills in the relevant areas and the ability to work under pressure, are a necessity. You will have a passion for business development, working actively to strengthen and develop new client relationships by building local networks and attending appropriate networking groups and events, some of which may be out of hours. You will have a good grounding in all the areas of work we are handling and keen to make your mark on this challenging and rewarding area of work. There will be an opportunity to write articles and get involved in marketing the firm and the department. A candidate who is well connected and able to introduce work into the firm will be well regarded.

Sound IT skills - experience of case management systems & Microsoft packages. Full training on our practice management systems will be provided

A willingness to develop the firm, communicate well and work as part of a team of an established, but adaptable practice is of the highest importance.
THE IMPORTANT PART:
This is a full time associate solicitor role. The salary is competitive and will be assessed according to experience. They offer a performance related bonus scheme, employers' contribution to a NEST pension scheme, 20 days holiday in addition to the office and statutory holidays and your practising fee paid. There are flexible working arrangements but attendance at the office will be required for a minimum number of days each week
