We have an exciting opportunity for a Service Manager to join our inspiring and friendly Community Support Service Team. Your role will be a permanent position, working full time 35 hours per week based in Milton Keynes

We provide a range of community-based services, including running facilitating open sessions in different locations, community based activities, workshops and one- to-one support working.

We take a holistic approach to working with individuals and will support and encourage them to participate in both physical and creative activities and goal setting that aid their recovery and improve their wellbeing. We work closely with variety of local organisations to offer this broad base of activities and support.

In partnership with Richmond Fellowship, we also facilitate a weekly Hearing Voices group.

We run a successful closed Facebook group which informs members about service activities and offers support from staff and peers. In the coming few months we want to build on our already successful Peer lead group work.

Some people that use the service also run a weekly peer-led support group which we can introduce people to for additional peer support.

What will you be doing?

- Leading and developing teams to deliver forward thinking, recovery orientated and high-quality services that meet the needs of individuals and commissioners
- Delivering peer support services and supporting vulnerable people with mental health needs in the community including those who are stepping down from inpatient services
- Ensuring that the tools of person-centred recovery planning (ISSP) are embedded into local practice and that all staff are utilising RIS (Rethink Information System) correctly to record support activities
- Driving compliance with all policies and regulatory requirements; whilst striving to achieve the best possible outcomes and internal/external recognition of quality
- Ensuring all staff are supported and developed through on the job coaching, individual supervision, group supervision and appraisals, identifying and promptly addressing learning and development needs
- Supporting the implementation of change, best practice and continuous improvement
- Focusing on Peer development for service users with a view to increasing peer support groups and becoming part of the wider peer support network

Do you have what we are looking for?

- Experience of managing a service ideally with people with mental health needs or in another health or social care setting, including managing & supporting a staff team and volunteers
- The ability to assess, plan and monitor support to achieve & evidence recovery and service outcomes
- Experience of leading and managing a dispersed team across multiple sites, including recruiting and managing performance
- Demonstrate a significant knowledge and understanding of the needs of people with mental illness and I am familiar with best practice developments
- an NVQ 3 / QCF Diploma in Health & Social Care related subject
