AIX+ linux L3 (Midrange Resource with skills of AIX+ Linux & Veritas
We are urgently looking for AIX+linux Level 3 professionals in Havant, Reading, UK. Immediate joiners Inside IR35, please apply ASAP. Below is the JD:
- User management (Local,AD, sudo and sudo like, sshkeys)
- OS installation/patching/package management
- Network management - IP address configuration and IP tables configuration, SNMP, tcp/udp ports
- Security management - password management/PAM, setting security parameters
- Kernel fine-tuning
- Storage - local, LVM, NAS, SAN, multipath and space management when apps occupies
- Process, memory and Swap - OS architecture
- Hardware and physical Network
- Scripting, automation and tools including monitoring tools, DevOps, CM tools like ansible
- Troubleshooting and analysing an issue for example when server goes to hung state or slowness complaint.
- Installing/Configuring a software - a new app.
- Clustering - OS and apps for example oracle cluster
- Some basic knowledge on web server - Apache NGiNX
- Knowledge on DB - Oracle, MySQL and PostGreSQL
- Knowledge on Backup - tar, gz, zip, tape and software like TSM NetBackup etc
- Virtualization, Cloud and container
- DR setup
- ITIL Knowledge
- DC movement, migration including apps., storage and network
- Knowledge/experience in other technologies
Responsibilities:-

- Oversees and is responsible for successful completion of Installation, configuration and migration

- Understanding of Multi-geo support environment
- Responsible for building/maintaining a test environment
- Responsible for strategizing a backup plan and test plan for failure scenario
- Improves and maintains customer and employee satisfaction
- Suggests new technologies and design changes
- Monitoring and maintaining SLA requirements by the team members
- Planning Backup/Restoration Strategy for 24x7 operation support
- Suggesting patches/upgrades to maintain security level
- Testing/Auditing/processes as required from time to time
- Identify Skill gaps and plan for training/knowledge updating
- Assist/Plan/Procedure in Data centre consolidation efforts
- Perform H/W & performance tuning and maintenance
- Day-to-Day reporting tasks

Technical Requirements
- Installing, configuring and maintaining IBM AIX Servers
- Installation and configuration of HA environment using HACMP or Veritas Cluster.
- Configuration and administration of Logical volume manager/Veritas Voume Manager.
- Patch and Package administration
- Printer Administration
- Writing Shell Scripts to acomplish day to day system administration task
- Configuring and supporting Domains, LPARs, DLPARs
- Administer & configure various FS like JFS, VxFS, Pseudo FS
- Troubleshooting Hardware and Operating system related issue
- Capacity planning and fine tune system for optimal performance
- Understanding of SAN and NAS storage.
- Administration of NIS or LDAP environment
- Configuring Unix Security baseline
- Troubleshooting Hardware and Operating system related issue
- Performance Management & fine tuning
- Experience in System Fault Tolerance Design, Business continuity and Disaster recovery planning
