Our Opportunity
As our Quality Technician, you will provide support to the business to drive progress towards a goal of achieving zero production product quality issues and zero customer complaints for production quality issues. You will be engaging with various departments to implement and maintain quality controls and systems, which will prevent potential product issues from occurring.
As our Quality Technician, you will have the following responsibilities:
- Inspecting and verifying components and products against specifications, drawings, and standards (Production order sample inspection, Spare part order inspection, Incoming Goods inspection)
- Supporting the business with measuring and verifying component dimensions and characteristics against drawings and specifications to support in product issue preventative actions
- Ensuring non-conforming components and products are managed effectively to prevent customer complaints
- Raising and reporting product nonconformances from inspection activities and lead problem solving activities to drive the implementation of preventative actions
- Analysing production output and identifying opportunities for improvement
- Pro-actively educating Production Team Members on all aspects of Quality
- Supporting in the review of Process FMEA and Control Plans
- Investigating and analysing product nonconformance data and driving problem solving activities with the Production, Production Engineering & CI departments
- Supporting global locations with Quality related queries and requests
- Conducting Internal Audits against the requirements of ISO9001
- Managing the actions from Internal Audit findings ensuring closure in the required timeframe
- Managing the control of nonconforming components and materials in the company MRP system (Syspro)
- Producing reports pertaining to Quality Control activities for the management team
- Developing and maintaining inspection instructions and guides
- Communicating quality issues to all departments
Skills & Experience required to become our Quality Technician:
Essential:
- Previous experience in a Quality Inspection role, or similar
- Experience of ISO9001, its requirements, and its role within a business
- Literate with Office 365 applications
- Basic understanding the 7 tools of Quality
- Must be able to work on their own initiative as well as part of a team
- Expected to be adaptable and have the willingness to change and embrace change in their role
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Experienced in creating and analysing outputs from inspection and reporting on their findings
- Excellent time management
Desirable:
- Competent Internal Auditor
- Experienced in reading and understanding technical drawings and specifications
- Experienced with FMEA and Control Plans
