Our Uttoxeter Bakery is over 100 years old and manufactures some of the Nation's household favourites. This includes Malted Milk, Custard Creams, Digestives, Nice, Farley's Rusks and a variety of own label assortment packs for our key customers such as Tesco, Asda, Morrisons, Marks and Spencer, Sainsbury's, Aldi and Lidl.

About the Role

This role is working on a Continental Shift Pattern, 4 on 4 off (07:00am to 07:00pm/ 07:00pm to 07:00am), rotating days and nights.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Multi-skilled Engineer (electrical bias) to join the growing team at our Uttoxeter Bakery. As well as being responsible for all things electric at site, you'll have the opportunity to work on an extensive range of machinery from years gone by right up to the latest most innovative technology such as robots which makes for this to be an exciting role where no two days are the same! The Staffordshire site operates 24/7 so we're looking for a team player who thrives working in a fast-paced environment and not afraid to roll up their sleeves and get involved!

Specific tasks include:

* Working as part of a multi-disciplined team of 6 Engineers.

* Responsible for planned & preventative maintenance across the site, maintaining and improving the efficiency of all production machinery.

* Provide breakdown diagnostics, resolving any issues and escalating correctly.

* Fault finding and rectification on a variety of machinery and systems which you will ensure is carried out accurately & safely and documented correctly.

* Machinery you will be working on is, but not limited to, mixers, ovens, moulders, conveyor systems, fast flow machines, check weighers, metal check and X-ray machines.

* Play an active role in the training and development of the engineering team, through sharing best practice and mentoring of apprentices.

All About You

* An Electrical Engineering qualification, and or a time served Apprenticeship in an Engineering discipline. (A Mechanical Engineering qualification with electrical bias will also be considered).

* Experience of working in a Machinery Maintenance/ heavy industry background with a very strong electrical bias preferably in a manufacturing environment, ideally FMCG.

* A background in fault finding/ rectification & competent mechanically, with experience of working with PLC systems, ideally Allen Bradley or Omron.

* Basic understanding of Continuous Improvement procedures and techniques.
