Five Education is supporting a primary school in South Bristol and we are looking for Teaching Assistants with general SEN experience to support a range of children on a supply basis. You will be supporting a year five class working with several pupils with a range of different needs. Some of the children who attend this school have an EHCP where their main need is SEMH (Social, Emotional & Mental Health needs) and SLCN (Speech, language, and Communication Needs). We require confident and experienced teaching assistants to support the children on a day-to-day basis.
Responsibilities and duties:

Using Makaton and PECS throughout the day
*
Supporting students in the class
*
Assisting students in their work
*
Working 1:1 and in small groups
*
Assisting students with their social and emotional development, including appropriate responses and building relationships
*
Implementing behaviour management tools in line with the school's policy
Essential Criteria:
*
Knowledge of PECS Makaton or visual communication is desirable but not essential as it can be learned
*
A flexible and resourceful approach
*
Patient and able to relate to the students
*
You will be able to demonstrate strong behaviour management skills
*
Have a right to work in the UK (A Valid Visa)
*
Two recent child based references and relevant DBS/ Police checks
*
Access to bicycle, car, or near main bus routes.
*
Able to work 8.30-3.30, 4-5 days per week term time only

Successful applicants will be required to undergo checks including reference checks, TRA checks and will need to have a DBS; there will also be a face to face interview. Five Education do not believe in using umbrella bodies, we use PAYE and how this isn't comparable with umbrella body pay and that there is no admin fee as with Umbrella bodies and Five Education pay employers national insurance on top of the salary. Please note pay rate is for illustration and does include holiday pay.
