We have an opportunity available for a Campus Marshal to join our team based in Northwich. The role is offered on a full-time basis, working 37 hours per week term time only and will be temporary until 31 December 2021 in the first instance. In return, you will receive a competitive rate of GBP17,372 per annum pro rata (GBP14,477 actual salary).
As our Campus Marshal, you will support in the operations of a safe College environment for the wellbeing of all those on the campus by supervising students including the College's student social spaces.
Hours of work will be Monday and Tuesday 8.00 am to 4.30 pm and Wednesday to Friday 8.00 am to 3.30 pm.
Your responsibilities as our Campus Marshal will include:
- Directing and managing the efficient flow of individuals around the campus using the "one-way" system
- Engaging with students and encouraging them to move along to where they are meant to be
- Providing clear and precise instructions to individuals or larger groups of students and ensuring these instructions are adhered to
- Systematically monitoring classrooms and communal areas of the campus, and being mindful of occupancy levels of a given space, directing individuals to and from areas as required
- Managing large groups of students in communal areas, such as dining areas, and main college thoroughfares
- Ensuring safe and efficient queueing at key times of the College day
- At the beginning and end of the College day, directing traffic onto site and managing car parking arrangements as directed
- Providing regular vocal reminders to students about handwashing/sanitising and social distancing
- Undertaking additional cleaning of "high touch" areas and reporting cleaning requirements to Estates
- Maintaining an up to date knowledge of government COVID-19 guidelines in a College setting
- Undertaking other duties as the role develops which may reasonably be required by College management
- Acting in accordance with the College's policies and procedures including health and safety procedures, the Safeguarding Policy and the Student Disciplinary Procedure
- Reporting any incidents that may affect the safety of colleagues or students where necessary
- Acting as a runner for resources that may be required
Our ideal Campus Marshal will have:
- Educated to GCSE standard or equivalent level is desirable
- Experience of customer service or dealing directly with other people
- Good understanding of the government guidelines around the measures for COVID-19, particularly in a college setting
- Ability to follow set procedures and carry out instructions
- Able to intervene with individuals/groups of students, by providing clear instructions that are followed.
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with individuals at all levels
