Shift Supervisor Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
The main purpose of the role is to provide supervisory support and lead the shift to ensure the production plan is achieved through the effective use of resources and workflows. Also to ensure that outputs and quality standards are not compromised in the achievement of the plan.
Shift Supervisor Benefits:

Shift Supervisor Shifts:
* 37 hour week - Monday to Friday
* 3 week rota - mornings/afternoons/nights) and from time to time a 2 cycle shift pattern (mornings/afternoons)
Shift Supervisor Skills/Qualifications/Experience:
* Team Leading/Supervisory experience is essential
* Previous Supervisory/Shift Lead experience
* Demonstratable experience of working at a similar level role within an aligned manufacturing industry
* High level of literacy and numeracy skills and a good standard of ICT skills
Desirable:
* Qualification in management
Shift Supervisor Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
* The Shift Co-ordinator is responsible for the coordination and supervision of shift activities and personnel to ensure the successful achievement of the production plan.
* Liaise with other Shift Co-ordinators, Production and Planning Leaders, other internal and external personnel when required to address and resolve any issues or barriers that could impact the effectiveness of the shift's performance and shift handovers
* Engage with their team to effectively communicate the requirements of the business, empowering team members to continuously and proactively improve themselves and their work areas.
* Conduct shift start up meetings and carry out tool box talks with team.
* Ensure team understand and comply with Health and Safety, Company policies and procedures and maintain high standards of hygiene and housekeeping at all times.
* Optimise labour and other resources to successfully achieve the production plan/outputs without compromising on quality standards.
* Process and collation of daily work records and documentation (work orders, output levels, labour shortages/absence, scrap analysis etc.
* Contribute to and where applicable lead continuous improvement events for areas of responsibility
* Ensure problems which cannot be resolved immediately/locally, are escalated in a timely manner and in line with tiered accountability
* Cover work for other/absent team members as and when required
* Management of first line people management/HR activities (training, holiday requests, absence, performance etc.)

* Strong leadership skills and behaviours, leading by example
* Ability to listen, direct, challenge, motivate and praise team members in the achievement of business performance.
* Ability to communicate clearly and effectively whilst always encouraging two way communications.
* Ability to convey technical knowledge/experience to others
* Self-motivated, reliable, flexible and adaptable, ability to organise self and others to achieve business goals.
* Drive learning and develop opportunities for the enhancement of skills and knowledge of self and team for the overall effectiveness and flexibility of the shift.
