Location: Buxton, SK17 9RZ.
Salary: Competitive.
Contract: Full time, permanent.
Saica Flex Buxton is currently seeking an additional candidate to join the Purchase & Planning Team. Working in a team of 4 and reporting directly to the Supply Chain Manager your duties will revolve around the procurement of materials and production planning. You will take direction from both the SCM and Planners, working closely with other internal departments. The role is fast moving with a wide range of duties and responsibilities. This role is a strong opportunity to develop a career, with the potential to learn a variety of skills, including Procurement and Production Planning and develop within a large multinational organisation.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
• Process purchase requests for raw material, services and equipment in line with the procurement process.
• Develop effective working relationships with new & existing suppliers.
• Manage & co-ordinate the delivery of goods to site.
• Maintain and update data relating to suppliers, deliveries and raw material availability.
• Creation and management of spread sheets to control the purchasing process.
• Monitoring and forecasting of stock levels.
• Communicate with suppliers, hauliers and warehouse teams to schedule the delivery of raw materials.
• Assist the customer service team with queries accurately and in a timely manner.
• Support the Planning function with information and requests with regards raw material availability.
• Processing of invoices & price discrepancies.
• Produce reports for the Supply Chain Manager to assist with month end activities.
• Process and manage supplier complaints in line with Quality procedures.
• Support Group Procurement in line with the site strategy.
• Admin duties and assistance in project work.
Person Specification
• Immediate availability is preferable
• Essential to have a good level of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. This is a vital part of the role.
• Highly organised, with the ability to prioritise and manage a diverse work load
• Flexibility to undertake a variety of tasks to support the team
• Strong, assertive communicator
• Show good numerical capability with the ability to analyse and interpret large amounts of data, with an eye for detail
• Reliable, self-motivated and enthusiastic
• Capable of working within a team and use own initiative
• Be able to work well under pressure,
• Proactive and positive "can do attitude"
• A good knowledge of Microsoft Office and practical experience of using Outlook, Word and Excel.
• Minimum GCSE level of Education, including English and Maths to at least grade C or equivalent qualifications.
