Our well established client based in Maidenhead require a Finance Assistant to join their team. As Finance Assistant you will support the Finance Manager in performing the day-to-day activities as required of the Finance function.

The activities will include the processing and maintenance of the accounting records to help ensure reliable financial reporting. You will receive full study support alongside excellent training, help and support.

Responsibilities:

Processing of:

Bank transactions: Prepare weekly payments/deposits, processing transactions in Sage
Sundry Debtors Invoices as instructed
Supplier Invoices, including comparison to Purchase Orders/delivery notes to assess if expense was approved and to clarify variances
Ensure Vat is processed in Sage as instructed
Create Purchase Orders from Requisition and submit for approval per purchase policy.
Ensure contracts/agreements are signed, filed and a renewal date is in the calendar.
Update status of open Purchase Orders (matching of supplier invoices)
Employee expenses to payment, reporting non-compliance to Expense policy
Credit Card Expense reconciliation and processing, reporting non-compliance to Expense policy
Prepare Payment authorisation forms with supporting documentation
Enter payments in bank, ready for approval
Maintain Payment file, including summary of direct debits
Recording of weekly cashflow
Preparation of Sage accounts to Trial Balance, including month end journals
Maintain supporting schedules for prepayments, fixed assets, accruals and other Balance sheet items
Assistance in preparation of monthly management reports
Analysis of General Ledger identifying potential cost savings
Provide auditors with supporting documentation at yearend audit
Preparation of adviser commission for submission to payroll
Weekly reporting of New Business, outstanding debtors and ongoing commission
Ad-Hoc duties relating to financeRequirements:

Advanced Excel
AAT or equivalent
Accounting software packages, preferably Sage 200
Microsoft Office Word and Excel
Bookkeeping and basic accounting knowledge would be useful
