I am working with Wakefield Council who are looking for a communications professional for initially 3 months with the possibility of a further extension. The role is a mix of working from home as well as in the office based in Wakefield, paying GBP20.67 an hour umbrella.
You'll have excellent media management experience, ideally with established contacts in the regional, national and local Government media. You must have a strong news sense, understand what great, newsworthy content looks like and have the skills to deliver it. The right person for this role will have the curiosity and skills to tease out these positive opportunities, as well as identifying potential risks.
You should have experience of working in a communications, PR or marketing team and the ability to manage and deliver a front-line reactive and proactive media service. One of your key strengths will be using social media effectively as part of media relations, communication campaigns and activities. It is essential that you have creativity, innovation and a real spark along with the ability to build relationships and influence and negotiate with people at all levels.
You'll join a well-established and respected team, work with award-winning colleagues and play a key role in contributing towards building the reputation of the Council and improving the lives of local residents
With refreshed priorities, and the development of a new Council Plan, this is an exciting time to join Wakefield Council on the next step of its journey.
Looking for someone with experience in PR / journalism who has worked for the NHS or local authority. This is key for this role. Also must be good with social media.
