We have a fantastic opportunity to appoint our very first newly created Group People Director to join the plc board of directors of this privately owned UK & International Medical Device Manufacturer.

You will be an inspirational leader who can deliver the development of a people-centred culture across the group that is underpinned by a strong performance improvement mindset.You will work with key stakeholders on a range of initiatives, including employee engagement, health & wellbeing, reward, performance management, leadership, training and development. You will have the ability to translate key data into an effective, commercially focused HR to ensure a fully integrated people strategy across the group; predominantly UK and Egypt with small number of employees in France, Germany and the Middle East.

Reporting into the CEO you will be responsible for……..

  • Deliver a comprehensive, proactive professional HR advice and support service on all aspects of HR and people management across all Kimal companies.
  • Act as business partner and trusted adviser to fellow directors, and give counsel and oversee complex employee relation issues including not just individual cases but also structural reorganisations.
  • Lead and develop recruitment strategies, ensuring a robust and consistent selection process to both attract talent through proactively sourcing the right candidates and identifying the required talent through that process.
  • Act as an integral Board member with fellow directors/senior stakeholders and act as Champion to drive people and culture initiatives.
  • Oversee the policy and procedures of the company to ensure they are both up to date and in line with company vision. This will include end to end starter and leaver processes, regularly reviewing, developing and advising on contractual terms and conditions, ensuring legal and regulatory compliance as well as dovetailing to the company vision.

About you….

You will have at least 5 years generalist HR experience held at a senior or as head/director level and will hold a relevant Batchelor’s degree ideally in human resources/business administration/law/ or psychology, and will be a chartered member of CIPD as a minimum.

You will be an exceptional, inspirational communicator and coach to the business through your ability to think strategically and successful delivery of change management initiatives.

A solid working knowledge in UK employment law is essential as is exposure to international employment law, particularly in France/Germany where we have a small team and a larger manufacturing facility in Cairo Egypt. Languages; Arabic/French would be desirable.

You will have delivered successful employee engagement initiatives and have demonstrated the ability to evaluate and translate key data into meaningful measures of success and continuous improvement opportunities.

Most of all you will have a strong business acumen and will play an equal and key role for the company’s continued development and growth.
