HGV Technician- Night Shift

An exciting position has become available for a full-time, experienced, HGV Technician to work night shifts based in Wigan. The successful candidate will earn a competitive salary dependent upon experience and licenses.

The role of the HGV Technician is to carry out all aspects of vehicle maintenance both light and heavy, including servicing, inspection, repairs, MOT preparation, fault diagnosis and any other workshop related task that could be reasonably expected.

Role Requirements

• Commercial Vehicle Technician experience
• Level 3 qualified or equivalent certification / experience.
• Previous main dealer experience and an HGV licence would be an advantage, but not essential.
• Preferably IRTEC or equivalent certification / experience. But not essential.
• Previous main dealer experience and an HGV licence would be an advantage, but not essential as manufacturer training can be undertaken.

Role Responsibilities

• Servicing and repair of vehicles to MOT standards.
• A high level of understanding of Legal Compliance and standards of Roadworthiness.
• Ensure workshop tasks are completed in a timely and efficient manner to the required standard.
• Experience of electronic diagnostic tools preferred.
• Ability to work unsupervised with a high level of self-motivation.
• The ability to complete inspection and service documents, job sheets, timesheets to the highest standard both manually and electronically.
• Strong commitment to and understanding of workplace health and safety.
• Good communication ability to communicate with the shift team leader, customers and employees of all levels.
• A 'can do attitude' and problem solving skills.

The company are open at times to suit their client's business 24 hours a day from Tuesday at 8.00am right through to Saturday at 12.00 pm. Aftersales emergency service is operated at all other times through their dedicated call out services.

Shift Pattern

Monday - Closed

Tuesday - 9pm - 8am

Wednesday - 9pm - 8am

Thursday - 9pm - 8am

Friday - 9pm - 8am

Saturday - Closed

Sunday - Closed

4 night shift of 10 hours = 40 hour week. Our client runs this shift pattern to give the night staff more social/family time.
