A TYPICAL DAY IN THIS ROLE INCLUDES:

  • Deal with day-to-day people queries at all levels by phone, email and in person, ensuring that Company policies and procedures are followed and ensure legal compliance, escalating to the HR Manager where appropriate
  • Provide advice to line managers on all people related issues, including but not limited to guidance of absence, lateness, performance, disciplinary and grievance issues, and family friendly policies, probation ensuring HR policies and processes are applied fairly and consistently
  • Attend and note take at formal meetings when needed to support the business
  • Write comprehensive, accurate and timely outcome letters to all formal meetings.
  • Maintain all paperwork in relation to employee relations issues accurately and in a timely manner
  • Provide guidance and training to Store Managers to build HR skills and capability
  • Day to day support for the HR Co-ordinator and ensure that work is aligned
  • Ensure changes to employee status are communicated in a timely manner to the People Services Team and Payroll Team for processing in line with the required payroll deadlines
  • Keep up to date on relevant changes in legislation and people policies and procedures and apply to role, as well as sharing knowledge and closely liaising with the HR Advisor - Reward and Policy
  • Work with the HR Manager and People Services Manager to produce reports on people related data to share insight
  • Travel to sites across the UK and ROI may be required (in line with COVID-19 restrictions in place at the time)

THIS JOB IS A GOOD FIT FOR YOU IF YOU:

  • You have a real passion for employee relations and supporting and coaching line managers
  • You have up to date knowledge of employment legislation and experience of applying this practically in a fast-moving environment
  • You'll already be working in a HR Advisor role or are looking to broaden your experience and take your next step in your HR career
  • Have experience of having advised Line Managers on a broad range of people related issues
  • Have excellent investigative skills
  • Can independently write good quality, accurate letters, and emails
  • Able to demonstrate good decision making
  • Are a strong communicator and confident to speak to all levels of employees

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  • Minimum of CIPD Level 3 qualified
  • Good MS Office Skills
  • Great active listening skills and ability to interpret information correctly
  • Ability to influence
  • Able to organize workload independently
