Working within the Youth Hub service, the trainee will help to organise employer or sector-based 'job days' for young people. They will be supported by the Youth Hub Coordinator and Youth Hub Support Officer to build a list of local employers and contacts who can be invited to take part. The trainee will be part of a team, contacting employers and young people to ensure these events are a success.
They will have the opportunity to use Microsoft Office packages to: create an invite list, marketing material and monitor attendees.
Training will be given if needed, to use these effectively. The role will play a key part in establishing a regular rota of 'job days' and the individual will have the opportunity to develop relationships with employers and other partners.
For the Employer Hub, the trainee will support the Employer Hub Coordinator with social media and marketing for Hub activities, with a focus on training provision and Disability Confident support. They will also be required to assist with the administration of training workshops bookings and providing admin / technical support for the delivery of online training using Zoom or Teams and / or face-to-face delivery when Covid restrictions allow.
The focus of the Employer Hub training is to promote disability awareness with employers, with a view to increasing the number of disabled people in work. The trainee will have the opportunity to observe and develop skills around presentation and training delivery in addition to sharing their own experiences, if relevant and they are confident to do so.
The role is part-time, working 25 hours per week - 10 hours per week for the Youth Hub and 15 hours per week for the Employer Hub. Hours can be arranged flexibly between 8am and 6pm.
The role will mainly be home-based with one day per week based in the Youth Hub, in Exeter City Centre. A laptop, screen and headset will be provided.
There could be some travel within the region, to attend events if restrictions lift. Support can be provided with travel if required
