We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Leakage Development Technician to join us based in the East region of the South West. Joining us on a full-time, permanent basis, you will receive a competitive salary of GBP23,500 - GBP27,500 per annum and benefits.

As our Leakage Development Technician, you'll be focused on providing practical training and development to leakage resources working in DMAs on pro-active detection activities.

Responsibilities as our Leakage Development Technician will include:

- Providing best practice training and development to leakage technicians across a broad range of technologies and methodologies

- Acting as a coach / mentor for new starters/trainees/apprentices

- Supporting leakage resources in the development and production of evidence portfolios to support progression in role applications

- Working alongside the Leakage Team Leader to establish individual leakage technician improvement plans

- Identifying learning opportunities for technicians whilst working within DMAs and to then support and develop their improvement through practical application of tools, technologies and techniques on site

- Providing expert advice and guidance on the application of leakage detection techniques to identify, locate and repair underlying long outstanding leakage on both the distribution network and on the customer side

- Actively promoting and encouraging innovative ways of thinking and problem solving

- Actively adopt a proactive approach to coaching and mentoring

- Completing DMA entry/exit reviews with leakage technicians, determining appropriate methods and techniques for the DMA which can be used to further knowledge, experience, and competency

- Testing, evaluating and implementing applicable new leakage, pressure and demand related technology in compliance with all necessary SWW policies and procedures

- Undertaking network standby in accordance with rota; ensuring actions are taken in accordance with Company Emergency Procedures

What we are looking for in our ideal Leakage Development Technician:

- Educated to HNC/NVQ level standard is desirable

- Significant experience in the application of leakage detection technologies and techniques

- Experience in the application of network optimisation technologies and techniques

- Excellent knowledge of leak detection and repair techniques on water networks including trunk main, service reservoir and distribution networks

- Good understanding of unaccounted for water and the identification and subsequent allocation of losses
