Our client based in Glasgow are seeking a Communications Officer, to be part of the UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP26) at the Scottish Event Campus (SEC) in Glasgow from 31 October - 12 November 2021.
This is a full time role and will be working from home with 2 days based in the office. This role has an immediate start and last until mid-November. The rate of pay will be GBP112.21 per day. More may be possible dependent on experience.

Delivery partners for COP26 are the United Nations, UK Government, Glasgow City Council and Police Scotland.

Duties
o Part of the small Comms and Engagement workstream responsible for the delivery of the Get Ready Glasgow transport communications and engagement plan for this major UN Climate Change Conference
o Delivery of a behaviour change campaign in partnership with Transport Scotland and key transport operators, councils and other stakeholders, with the objective of engaging and influencing businesses and residents to encourage changes to travel patterns during the COP26 and keeping Glasgow moving and open for business
o Take the lead in delivering the transport communications and engagement plan in the lead up to and during the Conference, including proactive and reactive PR, assisting in the planning of drop-in sessions for impacted communities, coordinating direct communications to impacted businesses and residents, develop and implement a social media campaign and content for the GRG website and working with customer care team to help resolve business and resident enquiries
o Working with Get Ready Glasgow partners including UKG, TS, Police Scotland to provide clear, concise and effective communications around transport and impacts to all key audiences.
o Attend/participate in COP26 Transport Comms sub group as part of the Transport Scotland decision making structure
o Post-project reporting and evaluation of activity and coverage to advise on best practice for Glasgow City Council and Glasgow Life in the planning of future major events
