Compliance Manager - Consumer Credit

GBP30,000 - GBP40,000 + Benefits

Key responsibilities include:

Requirements:

* Minimum 5 years' experience in consumer credit compliance role

* Ideally held a previous Controlled Function (CF) /

* Relevant degree level education

* Understanding of FCA Rulebooks including, but not limited to, CONC, SYSC and DISP, with practical experience of UK consumer lending with particular focus on responsible lending, affordability assessment, identification of vulnerability and customers in arrears/default

* Ability to work across functional teams on multiple projects and serve as a credible representative for the consumer credit services

* High attention to detail and a keen emphasis on accuracy

* High level of initiative, along with a proactive nature

* Hands-on approach

* Line management experience is desirable and ability to report to senior management essential.

Policies and procedures:

* Acting as subject matter expert on applicable regulatory requirements and guidance from the FCA, ICO, FOS, CMA, ASA

* Regularly reviewing developments in applicable legislation and guidance

* Developing appropriate consumer credit compliance policies, including credit and affordability assessments, arrears management, vulnerable customers and financial promotions

* Developing and operating compliance procedures that implement policy, whilst ensuring that the FCA's treating Customers Fairly ("TCF") regime is appropriated embedded in the firm

* Maintenance and update of compliance documentation

* Conducting periodic TCF Evaluations.

Compliance monitoring

* Assisting with the update of the Compliance Monitoring Programme (in relation to consumer credit aspects)

* Operation of the Compliance Monitoring Programme and the reporting of results:

* Review of consumer credit policies to ensure they continue to meet regulatory requirements and applicable guidance

* Monitoring the operation of procedures applied to the consumer credit services to ensure that they implement policy, and

* Identifying issues / areas for improvement and co-ordinating their rectification, including liaison with Internal Audit (and other external parties as necessary)

Reporting

* Provision of management information to the Board (inc. compliance activity, legislative developments and credit risk management)

* Responsibility for regulatory reporting and liaising with the regulators including FCA, ICO, FOS and trade bodies. This includes GABRIEL/RegData reporting, Connect applications and handling any information requests from regulators and authorities

* Reporting to the MLRO, as necessary, with regard to the consumer credit services and supporting any investigation / analysis work conducted by the MLRO
