The team at Whitstable are looking for a team leader to work on a rotational shift basis working the hours of 6am-2pm on 2pm-8pm Monday to Friday.

As a strong role model you will have the ability to motivate others and work collaboratively with the team taking decisions where necessary.

You will be responsible for overseeing the CNC section and supporting the production supervisor in achieving the daily and weekly production schedules.

Main duties and responsibilities :

• To interpret production schedules and plan the activities to achieving the despatches as promised.

• To control, monitor and report daily production performance in order to match customer and business requirements within the agreed parameters (Volume, Mix, Quantity, Time etc.)

• To assist the Production Supervisor in the development of the continuous improvement culture and company objectives by maximising employee involvement to improving output, Quality and cost reduction.

To advise the Production Supervisor on operator requirements to cover absence and holidays.

• To control and monitor standards of conduct within the production area, ensuring that company procedures are adhered to, including Quality, Health & Safety, attendance/timekeeping, worker conduct, accident reporting and general housekeeping.

• To assist in conducting time studies and make the findings known so the timings within the planning system can be adjusted accordingly.

• To manage the development and training of operatives in line with policy and business development

In the Supervisors absence the job holder will assume responsibility for the daily production related issues and attend the daily production meetings.

Ideally you will have

• Minimum 5 years' experience within a component manufacturing/assembly environment is essential

• A clear knowledge of production controls and measurements

• A working knowledge of all products manufactured, and their associated processes is crucial to this position

• Great interpersonal skills
