An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Catering Service Manager to join us to be directly responsible for a catering service across multiple extra care schemes in North Yorkshire. We are looking for an individual with strong leadership qualities, fused with a catering background, to lead a team of Chef Manager, kitchen and serving teams to ensure they deliver excellent customer service. 

 

To be successful in this role, you should have work experience in catering or hospitality and solid organisational abilities, implementation of Food Service Standards, Health and Safety policies and procedures. Ultimately, you will ensure that we deliver efficient catering facilities and help increase our clientele satisfaction and impact.
The Role

 

As Catering Service Manager you will ensure the services are effective, efficient and have high standards of professionalism and compliance. We want to ensure we cater for the nutritional needs of older people and those with individual dietary needs which include more complex diets associated with feeding the elderly such as diabetes and dysphagia requirements.

 

You will also take responsibility for the supply chains ensuring they provide good quality products to the agreed specification along with ensuring the service operation complies with statutory regulations in accordance with health & safety, environmental health and hygiene requirements.

 

Other Information:

  • Working hours are normally between 8am and 5:30pm, however flexibility is required to work in an Agile environment. Overtime is possible to ensure service delivery

About you

Our ideal candidate will have:

 

  • Level 4 in Food Safety Management in catering, or equivalent 
  • Level 2 Professional cookery, or equivalent
  • HACCP/Food Safety management training
  • Health & Safety Qualification IOSH or equivalent
  • Solid experience of working within the catering industry plus experience of supervising staff
  • Up to date knowledge of legislation and best practice standards
  • An understanding of budget and financial control methods
  • An understanding of the more complex diets associated with feeding the elderly such as diabetes and dysphagia requirements.

 

You will also need to have a full driving licence and access to a car for work purposes
