Brief Overview of the Role
Voestalpine High Performance Metals UK is a subsidiary of the Voestalpine Group, located in Oldbury. This role is in the Aerospace Division of High Performance Metals UK. The market is very technically demanding (all training provided).
This is an excellent opportunity for someone to learn and develop new skills while working for a well-established company. Provide 1st and 2nd line support for IT service desk, review IT request system and identify recurring issues and implement corrective actions.
Vacancy Description
Provide 1st & 2nd line support for IT service desk
Review IT request system and identify recurring issues and implement corrective actions
Provide on-going support for local and Group IT manageed infrastructure
Support Microsoft office, WiFi and Lan
Maintain vendor data for phones, printers and WiFi
Support IT equipment, ie laptops, desktop computers, phones, ipads, projectors etc
Maintain central asset management register
Monitor IT licencing and update central licencing system
Support or complete testing on relevant IT systems
Support UK IT security management
Follow the training you receive when using any work items given to yuu
Take resonable care of your own and other people's health & safety
Co-operate with your employer or health & safety
Desired Skills
Excellent IT skills, advanced Excel and Power Point would be an advantage
General interest in technology and opportunities for future use
Knowledge of share point beneficial but not essential
Proven problem solving skills
Good organisation skills and attention to detail
The ability to work under pressure
Ability to liaise with staff at all levels
Good interpersonal and communication skills
Personal Qualities
Positive outlook and tact to deal with difficult situations
Ability to work with personnel
Ability to work as part of a team as well as yur own initiative
Enthusiastic
Highly self-motivated
Flexible
Desired Qualifications
GCSE A-C or equivalent in Maths & English
Working Week & Wage
Monday-Thursday 8.30am-4.30pm (half hour unpaid lunch)
Friday (phone number removed)pm
Total hours = 35.00
Weekly wage = GBP150.50
Future Prospects
Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship there may be the possibility of a full-time permanent position within the company
