An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Key Account Manager. We are looking for a high performing Account Manager who is highly self-motivated, dynamic and possesses excellent communication skills.

Role Overview:

The Key Account Manager will be the principle point of contact for a major business account; being in regular liaison with the full range of stakeholders from customer, through procurement, production, logistics and including functional responsibility to the Director of Business Development.

The role requires the management of multi-disciplinary processes and ability to manage complex situations with multiple stakeholders (each with differing perspectives) - all with the objective of ensuring the delight of the customer.

Working in close coordination with the site management team, this role will lead the product realisation activities for the specific project / account allocated - developing the process optimisation and driving improvements which positively enhance customer satisfaction and business performance results.

Champion and support the site in order to ensure SHEQ compliance in all aspects, eliminating potential technical business risks and achieving excellence in the manufacturing and logistics processes. Working closely with site management and staff in order to identify all opportunities and set routines leading to process maturity and continuous performance improvement.

Monitor complex monthly process excellence performance metrics to ensure that customer requirements in the areas of cost, efficiency, and quality are met. Producing monthly reports and participating in regular meetings with the customer

The role is based in Dudley Central Stock / Tube Laser Centre of Excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

Personal Tasks

Specific individual responsibility for:

  • Maintain effective communications with the customer (specifically ensuring schedules are regularly updated)
  • Maintain pricing schedule and ensure it is being applied correctly - amending as required for the introduction of new or additional processes
  • Coordinating with sub-contractors / Westok on outsourced processes e.g. enquiries / orders / progressing.
  • Communicating with the customer regarding delivery schedules
  • Producing quotations for new or revised products
  • Creating stock codes for new products / product enhancements
  • Sales Order Processing (in accordance with the process overview in Appendix A)
  • Liaising with procurement to ensure forward ordering of material and scheduling of inbound deliveries in accordance with production plan.
  • Coordination of the whole product-realisation cycle

Oversight on Others Tasks

Responsible for monitoring the effectiveness of following tasks:

  • CAD drawing controls
  • Accuracy of estimating time sheets
  • Advanced Product Quality Planning e.g. Control Plans
  • Controlling new product development
  • Stock control, material scheduling (with procurement) and control of non-conforming mill products (with SHEQ)
  • SOP / Production to stock orders
  • Nesting of production orders
  • Over/Under-confirmation of material against sales orders
  • Material control at sub-contractors, including progressing
  • Transportation of materials (pre & post-processing) - both inter-company and inter-division
  • Production inspection and certification
  • Final verification and release of product
  • Kitting / delivery to schedule
  • Coordination of the supply of quality assured ancillary parts (hex inserts, shims, etc) and any necessary system of supply e.g. kanbans.
