Machinist

Carbon60 are currently recruiting an experienced Manual Machinist to join an established team working for a large manufacturing company based in York.

The company that this will be working for is a leading manufacturer and service provider for pumps, motors, gearboxes and other rotating equipment.

Job responsibilities will include:

Operating mechanical machinery such as vertical and horizontal borers and manual lathes.
machining of various mechanical components.
working accurately from detailed engineering drawings.
regular use of hand measuring devices (micrometers, verniers, gauges)
Maintain detailed records and documentation.
Ensure company health and safety procedures are adhered to. Experience Required:

Experience of machining small to heavy industrial components
Apprentice trained/time served machining qualification or equivalent.
Experience of using large, manual machine tools (Vertical borers, Horizontal borers, Lathes)
Strong communication skills in both verbal and written
A strong and dedicated approach to Health & Safety and the desire to positively participate in improving of the Health & Safety culture of the organisationDue to the level of work required there is plenty of scope regardng overtime either during the week or at weekends with enhanced rates, for more information please get in touch.
