Seven Social Care is seeking a qualified childrens social worker to work in the Swanley area.

The main purpose of this role is to provide and enable the Department to provide, an efficient and effective social work service to children in need and their families. This role is a temporary position.

The role:

You will be part of a team of social workers committed to improving outcomes for children and families in Kent. You will play a crucial role in the safeguarding of children by delivering interventions and direct work with children and families, undertaking assessments and care planning in accordance with statutory requirements and departmental policies. Safeguarding children and young people is a key priority for our Department of People, and you will be expected to work closely with partner agencies to make sure we are providing the best support possible.

Your caseload will offer you a range of experiences by managing cases that are children in need; children in need of protection, looked after children and children requiring adoption. Effective record-keeping and report-writing skills are essential to the role. Alongside being organised and committed to teamwork. The variety of the work offers a range of experiences in social work practice and development.

Key Responsibilities:

The provision of a purposeful, professional social work service to children in need and their families, including the assessment of their needs, in accordance with statutory requirements and Departmental policies.

To contribute to the planning and development of the Team's and the Department's services to children and families, as required and as appropriate.

To participate in the organisation and administration of the work of the post to ensure the provision of service is completed.

To provide management information to assist in the setting, implementing and monitoring of the Department's strategies and services.

To contribute to the allocation of the work of the Team.

To provide a social work service to residential, day care and family placement resources, as appropriate.

To work directly with service users employing a range of social work knowledge, skills, methods and techniques.

To assess, evaluate and review programmes of work with service users, including the coordination and organisation of services both within and outside the Department.

Applicant Requirements:

Social Work Degree
Experience in similar roles
Must be Social Work England registered
Car driver
Full time - 37 hours per week
