Assistant Credit Controller

A vacancy has arisen for an Assistant Credit Controller to work with our client based in Barnsley who manufacture and supply furniture and distribute throughout the UK. Our client is a cash rich company, that has managed to increase its turnover and staffing levels year on year even throughout the recession; they are a great company to work for - very focussed on internal promotions and put a lot of emphasis on training and development for their staff, providing individuals with excellent opportunities to progress within the business.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone starting out in their career. This vacancy will be suitable to someone living in Barnsley or surrounding areas as their offices on good public transport routes and they offer free parking.
The role will involve:
* Producing applications for payments using Microsoft Excel
* Resolving customer queries
* Working closely with the area sales team
* Sending copy invoices, proof of deliveries and completion certificates
* Cash allocation
* Liaising with internal departments
* Account reconciliations
Experience/skills required:
* Experience in using Microsoft Excel would be considered an advantage
* Experience in Credit Control is not required however administration experience with an interest in accounts administration would be desirable
* An excellent telephone manner
* Strong organisational skills
* A keen eye for detail as accuracy is important
* A positive & flexible attitude
Qualities you must possess to be considered for the role:
* A reliable team player who is able to prioritise their workload
* Work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
* Able to meet strict deadlines
* Communicate with people at all levels

* Regular salary reviews
* The bonus is achieved by working towards team and individual targets
* Hours of work: Monday - Thursday 08:30 - 17:00 (45 minutes for lunch) and Friday 08:30 -16:00 (1 hour lunch)
