Senior Accountant
Location: Stoke on Trent
Salary: GBP42,500 p/a
Hours of work: Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm
Our client, an multi national market leader within their sector and globally recognised brand, are looking to recruit a Senior Accountant to join their team. The successful candidate will report to the Financial Controller and work in a 50+ team, working closely with various areas of the business, such as Finance, Purchase Ledger, Bank Reconciliations etc.
As a Senior Accountant, you will be expected to possess the following conditions:
Some knowledge in previous roles of banking for multi-company, multi-currency, multiple banks in multiple countries is preferable.
CIMA / ACCA qualified - at least two years post qualified.
Knowledge of using a variety of online business banking solutions.
Excellent Microsoft Excel skills.
Ability to work autonomously, but also in a team.
Willing to get hands dirty, and muck in as required.
Strong effective communicator in writing and in interpersonal communication.
Attention to detail is key.Overview of the duties as a Senior Accountant:
You will be the Banking Gatekeeper, responsible for banking requirements for more than fifty entities' bank accounts, covering 300+ bank accounts under various banking relationships in over 10 different countries.
Working closely with Head of Payments and Head of Ancillary Services to manage bank relationships from a finance operational perspective.
Managing any live operational issues of Finance banking users.
Regular review of gaps in bank account requirements by entity, ensuring new accounts are requested and fulfilled.
Perform regular bank due diligence on published accounts for existing banking providers along with due diligence on prospective new banking providers as and when requested.
Forecasting and monitoring working capital requirements by entity by currency to ensure cash obligations can be met on a weekly basis. This includes supplier, intercompany and regulatory payments.
Facilitate 100+ intercompany payments on a four weekly basis.
Supplier bank detail change control.
Develop understanding, reporting and controls on all bank charges from multiple banking providers.
