Hot End Operator - permanent - Derrylin

Do you have experience of working as a Machine Operator or Extrusion Operative within a fast paced manufacturing or FMCG setting? Do you have the ability to work as part of a team, ensuring production runs smoothly and to high quality standards? Are you comfortable working in environments that can be very hot due to the nature of the work? This could be the role for you.

We are looking to expand our fast-paced team working at a modern FMCG production facility based in Derrylin. You will work as part of a team who take great pride in the work that they do, with a great sense of community. You will work as part of a close knit team, working on a rotating shift pattern that includes 12 hour shifts during days, nights and weekends.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

Carry out the swabbing and changing of tools
To detect any defects in the product
Regularly check bottle sets for defects and potential defects including gauging.
To make sure weight control systems are working and weight control is maintained to optimum.
Make sure all critical defect and appropriate procedures are followed correctly.
To maintain maximum production efficiency and minimum down time.
To make adjustments to Flexis electronic control system to maximise machine performance.
To train and mentor lower grade operators.
Record at beginning and end of shift all machine settings, Foreharth temperatures, pressures settings, cooling settings and availability of spare tools.
Inform supervision of non-conformance and or take appropriate remedial action.
Ensure adequate supply of spare tools at all times.What we're looking for in you:

Experience of working in a fast-paced production environment; ideally with specific experience of working in environments with hot temperatures
Strong working knowledge of machinery and production equipment
Mechanical aptitude and problem solving skills; with the ability to identify issues with machinery and resolve where possible
Strong eye for detail
Good team player
Highly motivated
Good initiative
Excellent eye for detailWhilst experience in a similar environment would be advantageous, it is not essential as full training will be provided.
