A leading design and manufacturer of electronic / embedded products for automotive and transportation industries are looking for a capable Hardware Systems Engineer to join their continuously growing business. They have over 80 employees, and 20+ years in the industry. Their HQ is in Bicester, Oxfordshire.
As a Hardware Systems Engineer you will be responsible for assessing customer requirements, developing customer hardware and software solutions and writing the necessary technical documentation. You will be working very closely with the design engineers to ensure products are designed to specification. This includes managing compliance, tolerance and working closely with the client to ensure realistic and manageable briefs are taken. Your job as the Senior Applications Engineer - Hardware Systems will be both client facing and working within the R&D team in Oxfordshire.
Key Skills / Experience required for the Hardware Systems Engineer job:
* A strong technical and academic background in electronic design (analogue / digital electronics), PCB development and real time embedded software development.
* Knowledge of mechanical development and experience with dealing with product compliance, tolerance and design issues.
* Ability to work closely with clients to take project specification, with the ability to push back on tricky / unrealistic requirements.
* Experience of managing 2 - 3 projects simultaneously, working with customers and internal teams
