Customer Support Technician

Salary:

GBP23,000 to GBP27,000 per annum + benefits

The Company:

A market leader in custom aftermarket ECU and EGU tuning.

The Role:

Reporting to the Senior European Vehicle Engineer (with a dotted line to the US Support Manager), you will respond to customers technical inquiries through our on-line portal, via email and telephone as required. The individual will be required to independently diagnose and resolve customer questions for the product line (training supplied); independently identify, diagnose, resolve simple software problems, application key issues, interface driver challenges and read/write matters:

+ Provide full technical back up to European customers based in the European Continent

+ Respond directly to customer enquiries as first point of contact

+ Liaise with Engineering in the UK (and the USA) as necessary to resolve issues as required

+ Coordinate with the European Technical Sales Engineers ensuring clear communication of customer challenges and opportunities

+ Management of all necessary documentation in line with engineering protocol

+ Identify and assist with the documentation of European regulatory requirements

+ Identify and document any local support and engineering development requirements

+ Full training to be provided on commencement

+ Ability to travel to USA minimum once a year for annual Company meeting

Preferred Skills / Experience:

+ Experience in a technical support role

+ Current demonstratable technical hands-on knowledge and experience of the automotive ECM/TCM aftermarket tuning sector would be an advantage

+ Knowledge of automotive engine and transmission operations, automotive communications protocols, automotive programming tools and software an advantage

+ Familiarity with Programming languages tools an advantage

+ Strong communication skills

+ Personable and approachable attitude

+ Literate in Microsoft products

+ Organisational skills - management of own time and priorities

+ Competency in Microsoft products; Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint

+ Ability to demonstrate analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail

+ Comfortable in a fast-paced environment welcoming change and growth
